Celeb Style on a Dime: Halle Berry

Posted On Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

According to People StyleWatch, Halle Berry was recently spotted in a pair of Gap stirrup legging jeans. Ah, you remember stirrups? I don’t think anyone escaped the 80s without a pair of the form-fitting pants with the elastic strap at the end of each leg. Ms. Berry rocked her pair with a slouchy top and boots for a comfy casual look.

Gap’s stirrup legging jeans are currently on sale for $59.99, down from the original $70 price tag.

If you’re in the market for some stirrups {and you know you are!}, check out the additional options below.

Are you guys feeling the stirrup leggings and stirrup legging jeans? Or is it a bit too 80s for you?

Party season is quickly upon us. Whether you have to attend a function for your job or are just living it up with friends, it can be stressful finding the right party dress. Maybe you want a new frock for every party or a simple dress you can rework multiple ways. Whether your style is glam, sophisticated or more relaxed, check out the options below, all under $100.

Glam Diva:

You may fit in to this category if you love the style of glamour girls Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez. You don’t shy away from sequins, ruffles, bold prints or body hugging fits. These looks are perfect for a New Year’s Eve party with friends or a night out with your honey.

Sophisticated Elegance:

If a calf length sheath or A-line dress is your go to wear, you’ll love the options below. You can certainly maintain your chic sense of style while being a bit more conservative. These looks are perfect for an office party or dinner with your significant other’s parents.

Trouser Chic:

Whether you just want to keep your gams warm or prefer pants over a skirt or dress, pants can be just as dressy. Opt for a more casual style like Keke Palmer or a menswear inspired outfit a la Olivia Palermo. And rocking pants with a fancy top is a great way to stand out in a sea of dresses at a gathering.

Brandy attended a Thanksgiving Day parade wearing a functional and chic outfit. She managed to pair trendy {over the knee boots} with classic {turtleneck and pea coat} for a look that was nice and toasty for the chilly Philadelphia weather.

Her outfit’s quite easy to recreate with options you most likely have in your closet.

Fab Under $50: A-Line Dresses

Posted On Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Feminine. Flirty. Flattering. An a-line dress embodies all of these qualities. If you’re not familiar with this style, it’s fitted at the top and slightly flares at the bottom, resembling the shape of the letter “A.”

If you have ample “bottom blessings” as style guru Lloyd Boston would say, this look is ultra flattering. Regardless of your size, the dress works on all silhouettes. And I love how it has a bit of a lady like feel, very June Cleaver-ish.

Maybe you can’t afford Brandy’s polka dot Kevan Hall dress (above, left), but get the look of an a-line dress with the picks below, all under $50.

Mary J. Blige recently stepped out in a simple, yet chic look perfect for the cooling temps. She amped up the look of skinny jeans and a v-neck with statement making animal print booties. Pairing the camouflage jacket and leopard can be a bit tricky, but the queen of hip hop soul made it work.
