My latest thrift shopping haul for the month of January
Yesterday I hit up my fave midtown thrift store, Salvation Army on 46th St, and struck thrift gold after less than an hour. I wasn't exactly looking for anything in particular, but I'm always on the look out for more dresses. Also, Wednesday is Family Day, so most clothes and accessories are half off.
My final bill was just under 10 bucks and I walked away with great pieces I can wear now and easily transition in to spring.

thrift shopping tour, looking fly on a dime tourLast weekend was my first group thrift shopping tour of the season and we had a great time. In between helping shoppers score some cheap chic finds, I was able to snag a few items for myself. And of course I want to share what I bought as well as some tips I gave the thrifters on the tour. One recurring theme was how to step out of your style comfort zone, particularly when it comes to ditching a neutral heavy wardrobe and embracing color.

Housing Works warehouse saleEarlier this week I showed you my recent Housing Works haul from the Buy the Bag sale. But I found so many goodies {63 pieces for $50 equals less than 80 cents for each item}, I had to split the post up over two days. I gave you a glimpse at the awesome coats and tops I nabbed {including a St. John cardigan} and now it's time for the bottoms.

My style definitely leans more towards dresses, flirty skirts and even casual skinny jeans, and I found all of the aforementioned.Peep what I walked away with.

Fly Finds of the Week: these are pieces that add instant flair to your existing wardrobe. And best yet? Everything’s affordable. If you’re in the market for a new “it” item, look no further. You don’t need to drop a load of cash to update your wardrobe. Just adding one of these pieces is enough. Below are four of my favorite items less than $100 {under $25, $25-$50, $50-$75 and $75-$100}.

Avon Peep-Toe Mini Wedge, $19.99 Um, am I the only one who didn't realize Avon makes clothing and accessories? Well, they do! And these t-strap wedges are a perfect transitional footwear piece. Rock them now with tights and keep wearing them through summer with your favorite babydoll dress.

This past weekend I had an exhilarating, awesome, yet exhausting experience at the Salvation Army. You already know I love the Salv {as evidenced in my hauls here and here} but this weekend was the mega Coat Sale. This was my first time attending and it certainly lived up to the hype. Not familiar with the Salvation Army Coat sale? It's held a few times a year and racks upon racks of coats {furs, trenches, bombers, shearlings, etc} are up for grabs. Prices range from $8-$50, depending on length and material.

After an hour and a half of shopping around, I had about 10 or 15 coats, which I eventually whittled down to five. My grand total was $93.94.Click more to see what I scored and a few tips if you plan on buying a thrifted coat.
