Spotlight: Finderz Keeperz Vintage Boutique

Though I love national thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army, I also love finding little boutiques in the city. I find these are the best places to discover unique finds and the crowds aren’t as insane. After my Salvation Army thrift haul, I headed uptown to Finderz Keeperz Vintage Boutique {121 West 116th St}. I was amazed at this place. The store’s super small but packs a major vintage punch. They’ve been in Harlem for five years, I’ve been in Harlem for three years and we’re just now discovering one another. Such a shame but better late than never.

The owners were extremely helpful and super friendly. If you’re looking for something in particular, they’ll be glad to pull it off the racks or check the back {where they have even more vintage finds!}.

If you’re a lover of sequins, then this is the place for you. Entire racks were devoted to sequin dresses, tops and cardigans.

{the detailing on this shirt was impeccable. $35}

{just some of the beautiful sequin tops and dresses}

The prices for some items aren’t cheap but you’re sure to walk away with a one of a kind piece. While I was shopping, the owner showed another woman a purple fringe jacket that the original owner wore to a Janis Joplin concert. Needless to say, the woman purchased the awesome jacket for $60. *the store doesn’t accept credit or debit, so bring cold hard cash.

{i LIVE for this wide leg jumpsuit. $100}

{this mink collar coat felt absolutely divine. $150. the owner had tons more stored in the back room}

{hats were about $15-$25}

Though there were a handful of necklaces on the counter, I didn’t see any jewelry that caught my eye. However, if you’re in need of a fly dress or jacket, this is certainly the place. The racks are cramped so just give yourself some time to look through everything and you’re bound to walk out with a new addition to your closet. Just remember to bring cash!

Be sure to “like” Finderz Keeperz on Facebook. Can’t make it to their Harlem location? Check out the owner Lisa’s Etsy page where she has tons of coats and dresses.

Check back every week as I’ll “Spotlight” a new thrift or vintage boutique.
