What’s In Store: Sears Summer Style {You’ll Be Amazed at These Pieces!}

I love it when a retailer I’ve been sleeping on amazes me. That’s exactly what happened when I went to Sears last week. I initially hit up Sears to see if they had any Kardashian Kollection pieces {the line’s been discontinued}, but I didn’t find any. However, I saw countless summer styles that I loved and even bought a few.

If you haven’t stepped foot in Sears in a while, you might change your mind after reading this.

We already know the Metaphor collection is great for work wear and casual chic pieces {see my review here}, but I typically bypass younger lines like Bongo and Seventeen. I mean, I’m clearly not their demographic! But the clearance signs attracted me and the colorful, trendy gear was enough to get my browsing the racks for close to an hour.

There were bold hues, prints, cut outs and tops with flirty details.

I tried on a few pieces to see what the fit was like…

I’m regretting not buying the little white dress from Metaphor {it was less than $15!}. And the asymmetrical hems above are perfect examples of where some fast fashion stores/brands fail or succeed at style details. While the black and white striped dress fit perfectly, the hem of the gray skirt just looks droopy.

And remember last week when I gave tips on how to shop for clothing at cheap retailers? One of the pieces of advice was to size up when necessary. That’s exactly what I did with these pineapple shorts. They’re a size large. The medium was an okay fit, but I knew that after washing them, they’d shrink and would practically be too tight {short and too tight is a combo I don’t really love!}. So a size large it was! I wore the pineapple short set {less than $30 total} this Memorial Day weekend.

And stay tuned to the blog later this week for a Thrifty Threads post. I’ll show you the $25 Bongo dress I absolutely fell in love with. If you follow me on Instagram, you already got a sneak peek at the cobalt beauty!

When was the last time you shopped at Sears? What’s your favorite brand to shop there?

    Came over here after watching your Kohl’s Spring Fashion Hangout from 2014 on youtube. Love the blue dress from Sears and this striped one here. The white one is also lovely.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE the pineapples set! Thank you very much for the heads-up, I usually don’t shop at Sears b/c their selection is sometimes a bit olde-ish for me, but the dresses you’ve showed are just beautiful 🙂
