Salvation Army Haul

I’m really enjoying my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge {a full year where I don’t purchase any new clothing} but one draw back is I never know what the inventory at a thrift store is going to be like. I’ve been on the hunt for chunky sweaters for the past month but always left empty handed…until last Wednesday.

I hit up my favorite Salvation Army in NYC {46th St. between 10th and 11th} and walked away with a few sweaters that are perfect for the colder weather. Wednesdays are Family Day where all clothing and shoes are 50 percent off.

{i can’t wait to layer this over a pair of leggings and boots. $3.50}

{this DKNY men’s sweater would go great with a pair of skinny jeans. $3}

Click more to see my other finds, including a $10 Nine West coat and sparkly pumps.

{i love finding thrifting treasures like this brocade jacket. $3}

{this pink coat with ruffled trim had my name written all over it, $10}

{close up}

{Carlos Santana pumps, $4.50}

{cute t-shirts, 50¢ each}

I always tell people to remain patient if they’re looking for something in particular at a thrift store. You may not find it on your first, second or third visit, but you may just hit the jackpot eventually. I’m in the market for a cape and/or some killer boots, so we’ll see what happens!

      Thanks Kim. Yeah, I’ve been thrifting for a while now so my patience is pretty in tact.

      Thanks! Yes, a year is a looong time, but even if you try the challenge for a month or 2, it’s still an accomplishment!

      Haha, you can do it, I know you can! A year is a pretty long commitment but even trying it for a month or 2 can save a ton of cash.
