My First Time Shopping at Forever 21

As crazy as it sounds, I’ve never shopped at Forever 21. I’ve blogged about them, but never dropped any cash at a F21 store. So, I decided I’d change all of that as I’m in the market for a new pair (or two!) of skinny jeans.

I checked out the Union Square location in NYC and the crowd was just annoying. Yes, I can manage to deal with pushy thrift store crowds, but for some reason the crowd at Forever irked me.

I made my way to the jeans and was underwhelmed with the selection. That kinda surprised me because I always find cute stuff when I surf forever21.com.

I moved upstairs to the dressy area and looked around. I came across a flirty, fringe number, but I wasn’t really sure if it was a mini or a shirt. But it reminded me of Giambattista Valli’s Fringed Leather Mini Skirt (there’s a green and white version in last month’s Glamour).

I didn’t buy the dress (it was way too short and I didn’t like the texture of the fringes) but I thought it was funny this under $30 garment automatically made me thing of the Giambattista Valli I saw months ago.

Though I didn’t find the one thing I wanted (guess I’ll just look online), I walked away with a cute romper, earrings and a pearl headband…all for $21.

I like shopping on the site better. What I hate is the shipping. Stuff takes so long to get here. The one in my mall closed, so I sometimes go to the one the next town over, and the crowds are just as annoying.

The dress is really cute. Yes, that store is truly annoying and frustrating to shop in. I think it’s because they have so much clothes and being that they are fairly cheap people think it’s a swap meat in there. Online is a better way to shop, but, I have to agree with Niki Cheapskate, it takes so long to get here.

Yeah, I’d say stick to forever21.com, the stuff is cuter, organized and more options.

Now I know why you never shop at F21! The Union Square store has to be the worst one I’ve ever been to. It’s weird, NYC has the best shopping, no doubt, but the F21 stores in the city are pretty weak imo. The stores in Chicago are much better, like Old Orchard, Michigan Ave., State Street, etc. Anyways, shop online like the other ladies said! Although then it’s hard to try stuff on…but don’t give up on them! Fave store ever.
