Do you guys know what time it is? Yup, it’s time for the Housing Works Buy the Bag sale. If you’re not familiar with Housing Works, it’s a chain of thrift stores in NYC and if you’re not familiar with the Buy the Bag warehouse sale, then you’re missing out.
The $25 {it used to be 20 bucks} all-you-can-stuff-in-a-bag is hands down my favorite event. The warehouse location in Long Island City is full of deep bins with dresses, tops, pants, shoes, jackets and more. This is basically a thrifter’s paradise. The scene can be chaotic but if you come with a lot of patience, you’re sure to find some great items. I snagged a pair of Chanel pumps a few years ago!
As soon as you walk in, you’re given a large brown bag {the kind you’d get at the grocery store} and whatever you can stuff in it is yours for $25. At the last sale, I managed to fit 38 items in one bag.
The sale is being run a bit differently this time around, general admission starts at 11am but for an extra $5, you can enter at 10am, but it’s going to be awesome either way.
