Got Thrift Shopping Questions???

Hey guys,
I’m working on a project and I need your help. I can’t go in to specifics but it’s pretty big and I know you’ll love it. I hate to sound all secretive but details are still being hashed out. Anywho…I need your questions related to thrift store shopping.

Are you new to thrift shopping and don’t know where to begin? Have you tried thrifting but always seem to leave empty-handed? Are you freaked out/turned off by wearing someone else’s clothes?

Basically, I just need all of your thrifting questions. Nothing is too big, too small or too silly.

Leave your questions in the comment section or  email them to me: Patrice[at]LivingFlyonaDime[dot]com.

Thanks in advance!

Patrice

How do I know when a find is a “good find”?

Which thrift store do you find more rewarding- Salvation Army or Goodwill?

Is it proper to resale items purchased from the thrift store?

How much is too much to pay for alterations of thrift store clothing? (I found a MEAN vintage fur trimmed coat but it need major tailoring. I only paid $25 for the coat, is $75 too much for alterations?)

    more questions to come….

I frequently walk out empty handed but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest to thrift shop.
    Cool concept for your blog!

I live in an area where thrift means “old” and people tend to use the thrift store as a place to get rid of crap. I love it when I visit friends who have some great thrift stores near them – but that’s not all that often. Suggestions for online thrifting if there is such a thing?

What do you do if you get something that you no longer want or does not fit you right by the time you get home? What is the return policy if there is such a thing regarding returns?
