3 Affordable Stores that Offer Free Personal Shoppers

When I think of personal shopper service, I tend to have an image of high end department stores. The places where you’re greeted with champagne and a stylist tells you why you must have the seasons hottest trends, which come attached with an insane price tag.

But even affordable retailers offer this personalized service…and for free! If you need a bit of style advice tailored to your specific needs and even want someone to do a bit of shopping for you, check these stores out.

Topshop

Topshop has the latest trends {even Beyonce is a fan!} and if you live in a major city {New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles}, you can get access to their complimentary personal shopper service. Appointments range from the In and Out {pieces are already waiting on you once you arrive} to the Big Wow {statement garments for a major event} to the Stylist {expert input on what’s hot for the season}.

H&M

Last year H&M opened their largest flagship location in NYC at 48th and 5th and it featured a shoe section, plus size, children’s and even home decor. You can check out my review of the H&M home. And in that post I briefly mentioned the personal shopper service. Check out Kela’s Kloset for an overview of the H&M personal shopper service. With the massive expansion the company is undergoing, fingers crossed they extend this service to other locations.

Macy’s

Macy’s is one of my fave department stores for everything from seasonal trends to wardrobe staples. And they’re always having a holiday sale or some type of discount. Try their free Macy’s By Appointment personal shopper service for help navigating the store’s massive inventory and to stay up to date on upcoming sales.

Other stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus also offer free personal shopping. While their price points can be a bit more expensive than the options above, don’t rule them out! If you have a little extra cash to invest in wardrobe staples that you’ll wear forever, use the help of the shopper to find the best pieces for you. They’ll take your budget and style needs into consideration. Also, it’s great for them to have your information on file, so when a sale is coming up, you’ll be the first to know.

When you set your personal shopper appointment, or actually before you make an appointment, have an idea of exactly what you want to accomplish. What do you want the shopper to help you with? If you’re going for a particular look, show him/her examples with images on your phone, tear out pages of a magazine or even create a Pinterest board of looks you love. Also, ask yourself what’s your biggest dilemma or frustration when getting dressed. This will really help steer you in the right direction and get the most use out of the personal shopper service.

Personal shopping clearly isn’t just for the elite. Anyone and everyone can get in on the action.

Have you ever used a personal shopper? What did you find most useful about it?
