Cubicle Chic: Statement, Stylish Blazers for the Workplace

I’m definitely a summer gal! By this time every year I’m craving summer dresses, floral tops and bright colors. Maybe it’s the long hours spent at the office or the lack of sunshine, but the winter blues are definitely setting in. In efforts to brighten things up a bit, I like to incorporate my favorite summer pieces into my winter wardrobe. Not only does this expand my closet but my wallet as well! A winter staple of mine, especially for work, is a blazer. Blazers are essential in a versatile office wardrobe. Throw one over your favorite sundress or pair with a silky top and you’ve got yourself a fresh new look, using summer pieces that you already own.

Tailored blazers look polished at the office but can also be a bit boring. Your summer floral top looks great under a tailored blazer. They’re fun, lively and a great reflection of your personal style. This look would take you from the office straight to happy hour.
Fit Tip: Tailored blazers accentuate your waistline and elongate your torso. They are a great option for round and hour glass shaped figures.

Cropped blazers are an alternative to the traditional blazer. I love my silk summer dresses, so including them in my winter wardrobe is a win-win! Throw a cropped blazer {particularly one with some texture} over your favorite summer dress for a sexy and chic look.
Fit Tip: Cropped blazers add volume up top, leveling out the bottom half. They look especially great on those with a triangle shape.

An oversized blazer is a great option for those looking to add some masculinity to their look without over doing it. Paired with your favorite summer skirt or tee, an oversized blazer gives a masculine feel while still looking chic.
Fit Tip: Oversized blazers draw attention towards your hips and legs. Perfect for inverted triangle and rectangle shapes.

I’d love to hear what summer pieces you’re incorporating into your winter wardrobe. And how to you style your blazers so they’re chic and not stuffy?

This is so cute. I love the cropped one with the pink dress. Stylish but not over the top.
