  1. I watch you at pix 11 all the time. love your hair. a friendly advice- have the camera man zoom out the camera a little bit more. its too up close and I cant see the wonderful outfits your holding. keep the good work.

  2. I saw you for the first time tonight on Pix11.  You were talking about a Target sale on 10/30, but I was focused on your hair the whole time.  I LOVE your style and have been wanting to get the hairstyle for a while.  Can you please tell me where you go or how it’s done?  I’d really appreciate it.  My email is raindrops49 at hotmail dot com if you don’t want to reply here.  Thnx.  Lola

  3. hi! i see you on wpix11 and i love ur segment. i’m wondering is there any websites or magazines just designed for men in terms of dressing whether it be in urban, social or casual. im looking for information as to finding magazines or websites that can show me how to dress in different styles for a guy.

  4. I’m a tall girl, 5’9 to be exact, i’m a curvy girl and I wear a size 10 shoe. Do you think I can find clothes that will fit me in these thrift stores. I’m new to thrifting and am skeptical that i’ll find anything for my body type…

  5. I am looking to purchase 85 ebook readers for the members of my volneenter fire
department. This will be a gift for them. My plan is to put a book together ofor
our 50th anniversary. It wiil be with video, pictures and words of our history.
We were going to have a book made, but way over our budget for the small amount
that we need. I was told to look into a nook or kindle so that they would be
able to add to it or use it for other things. Let me know what you think is my
    best direction.  email  fmfred425@gmail.com

  6. Hi I love trift shopping but I can never find any size 16 in vintage here in NJ. And the majority of the trift stores out here are kind of pricey. Can u please point me in the right direction. I loved the dress you where wearing on Nate 12/20. Thanks Maggie

  7. You appear on channel 11 and advertise sales for weekend of Jan 7th only to find no information here about those sales. I won’t waste time on this site again.

    • I gave all info about the sales during the segment (and there was a graphic that included days, time, addresses, etc). I never stated additional info would be on my personal site.

  8. Ms. FOAD!!! How I am so happy to have come across your blog. I took a peek and  everything is just so FLY! Very informative. You have truly, truly inspired a sister. This is just what I need to see as I’m doing “new things” this year, the first is, I will be going all natural. Keep up the good work.

  9. I’m obsessed with thrifting!  But because everything is so inexpensive…I end up buying A LOT of stuff.  You know that feeling when you’ve found two similar items…and you know you only need one of them…but you rationalize taking both because they’re only a few dollars each?  Yeah…we’ve all been there.  I imagine your closet is bursting at the seams, much like my own.  Id like to see you do a piece on culling through your closet and knowing how to purge and part with things you don’t wear.  I’m a lot better at this now, since I end up donating it back to the thrift shop, and also since i know the item only cost a few dollars to begin with. How often do you purge?  Seasonally?  What’s the criteria?

    • I’ve done a post kinda related to this, along the lines of how not to overbuy just because something’s “cheap” and how to determine if you really want something. That’s the quickest way to have buyer’s remorse and have an overflowing closet when you just buy because the price is appealing. I’ve definitely done it before!

  10. Hi!  Was so excited to see your segment on Nate today!  I am a designer vintage collector, sometimes dealer and am currently working on an MFA in fashion design.  I started blogging last year on vintage, how you can find great designer pieces at the thrift store as well as fashion history.  As you know, many people think thrifting is bad.  I am so glad to see you bring some shine to how great the world of thrifting is.  I am also a mother of two small boys under the age of 5 so my blogging is really slow…I try to get it in between semesters when I can really focus on it.   Would love if you stopped by.  http://www.chiccityvintage.wordpress.com

  12. Hello! After I saw you on the Nate show a few weeks ago I was hooked. I never shopped at trift store but I was so inspired with you and your amazing style that I had to try. So yesterday I went to 23rd street between 2&3rd Avenue and Goodwill store was amazing. I found two beautiful dresses for $19 total. I washed it and ironed and it looks like a brand new! Of course before purchasing I checked both dresses and made sure they are not damaged and stained. I had to stop myself for overbuying yesterday because I find at lest few more items like banana republic skirts I relly didn’t need so I stop myself on time. I am hooked, so next purchase will be a few jewlery pieces next week.
I am so happy that I discovered you on the Nate show and that I started my trifting adventures. Finally I can have more clothes without sacrificing syle and overspending.

  13. Hope you can help, Lost my favorite skirt in a luggage disaster! It was a J Crew Nantucket skirt size 6 from SpringSummer 05. I check all the thrift and co-sign shops in Boston and NYC when there as well as ebay but so far no luck. Is there any other way I can try and find this skirt? I will take any size and have it altered.
    Thanks for any help!!!

  14. Hey Patrice, I’m visiting NYC from CA next week. I have to miss the sip & swap :-(, but of you had any adventures next week I’d love to tag along:-)
    Thanks!

  15. HAVE ONLY WATCHED WPIX NEWS FOR A FEW SHORT MONTHS. SOME OF YOUR SHOPPING IDEAS ARE OK BUT I AM NOT THRILLED WITH HOW YOU THROW SOME OF YOUR OUTFITS TOGETHER. I AM A SENIOR GAL BUT I MUST ADMIT MOST OF THEM LOOK JUST LIKE THEY ARE THROWN TOGETHER THRIFT SHOP BARGAINS; NOT AT ALL STYLISH OR ANYTHING I WOULD WANT TO WEAR AT YOUR AGE. AND THE “SALES” YOU SHOW OF SOME OF THE DESIGNER/UPSCALE PLACES JUST WOULD NOT BE IN MY PRICE RANGE OR CONVENIENT FOR ME TO GET TO. SORRY, HON, BUT I THINK YOU NEED ALITTLE MORE EXPERIENCE FOR THIS TYPE OF SEQMENT AND ALITTLE MORE COACHING ON HOW TO “THROW” OUTFITS TOGETHER. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR FEMALE REPORTERS WHO DRESS WITH ALOT MORE STYLE AND FLATTERING DRESSES MOST DAYS.
