Last week was pretty big for me. I made my second appearance on the Today Show {my first appearance is here}.
My latest appearance was all about fashionable finds under $50. I picked my favorite pieces from department stores that packed major punch without putting a strain on your wallet.
If you missed the live segment, check out the video below as well as some behind the scenes shots and details on what I wore.

If you guys like my Facebook fan page {closing in on 4,000 fan, thanks!} or follow me on Instagram {@LookingFlyonaDime}, then the title of the post should come as no surprise to you. But...I'll be appearing on a segment for The Today Show. I can't tell you how excited I am. The segment airs live {eek} on Tuesday, October 9 during the 9am hour of the show.
This opportunity actually came about after I appeared on The Nate Berkus Show throughout last season.

The fashion of the 80s can be a bit scary for some but I tend to embrace the trends of yesteryear. Peplum dresses, acid wash jeans and off the shoulder shirts are still pretty hot.And one childhood trend I really love is jelly shoes. You remember jellies. They were the plastic sandals you wore as a kid. They practically melted on your feet and left you with sweaty toes.Well, jellies are back. Designers like Valentino and Givenchy are selling jelly sandals and flats for close to $300.

Designer Jelly shoesI would never pay that much for a pair of jellies, so I was beyond excited when the folks over a Happy Scarf sent me a pair of their jelly flats. They retail for just $24 {currently on sale for $20} and come in colors like black, pink and electric blue.

Jelly flats for summer

If you guys follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you know I spent last week in San Francisco. Besides enjoying some serious thrifting {more on that later this week}, I took in the sights, as this was my first time in the Bay Area. And of course, I rocked head to toe thrifted looks. I never intentionally wear head to toe thrift store finds, but because the majority of my wardrobe is secondhand, that's just how it works out!During my first day in the city I went for a denim top {Salvation Army} and cobalt blue maxi skirt {Goodwill}. The skirt was actually free because I redeemed my Goodwill Rewards Card points. If you're a serious Goodwill thrift shopper, check with your local store to see if they have one of these cards, you won't regret it.

Ah, spring. The time of year where temps aren't as intense as summer, but the dreary winter days are gone. The season's only a few weeks old and it's time to stock up on wardrobe essentials. Whether you want to completely revamp your look or just purchase some add-ons for your fly closet, you can do so with picks all under $100.Bright Jeans: The thought of wearing bold hued denim is a bit scary for some but if you dare, try out the trend with a neutral top and pumps for a night out or simple flats for a day with the girls.
