Thrifty Threads: California Chic

Posted On Monday, May 14th, 2012

If you guys follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you know I spent last week in San Francisco. Besides enjoying some serious thrifting {more on that later this week}, I took in the sights, as this was my first time in the Bay Area. And of course, I rocked head to toe thrifted looks. I never intentionally wear head to toe thrift store finds, but because the majority of my wardrobe is secondhand, that’s just how it works out!

During my first day in the city I went for a denim top {Salvation Army} and cobalt blue maxi skirt {Goodwill}. The skirt was actually free because I redeemed my Goodwill Rewards Card points. If you’re a serious Goodwill thrift shopper, check with your local store to see if they have one of these cards, you won’t regret it.

Spring Essentials Under $100

Posted On Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Ah, spring. The time of year where temps aren’t as intense as summer, but the dreary winter days are gone. The season’s only a few weeks old and it’s time to stock up on wardrobe essentials. Whether you want to completely revamp your look or just purchase some add-ons for your fly closet, you can do so with picks all under $100.

Bright Jeans:
The thought of wearing bold hued denim is a bit scary for some but if you dare, try out the trend with a neutral top and pumps for a night out or simple flats for a day with the girls.

Celeb Style on a Dime: Halle Berry

Posted On Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

According to People StyleWatch, Halle Berry was recently spotted in a pair of Gap stirrup legging jeans. Ah, you remember stirrups? I don’t think anyone escaped the 80s without a pair of the form-fitting pants with the elastic strap at the end of each leg. Ms. Berry rocked her pair with a slouchy top and boots for a comfy casual look.

Gap’s stirrup legging jeans are currently on sale for $59.99, down from the original $70 price tag.

If you’re in the market for some stirrups {and you know you are!}, check out the additional options below.

Are you guys feeling the stirrup leggings and stirrup legging jeans? Or is it a bit too 80s for you?

Fab Under $100: Faux Shearling Booties

Posted On Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Janet Jackson was spotted everywhere last September debuting her short cut and a pair of fierce booties. The Burberry Shearling-Lined Aviator Boots added a great rugged look to her simple jeans and tee. Five inch heel, buckles and lined with super soft shearling, what’s not to love? Well, the $1,095 price tag isn’t so great.

Luckily, tons of retailers have jumped on the sartorial bandwagon to produce cheap chic alternatives.

If you’re looking to add some edge to your wardrobe with a rugged pair of lace ups, buckled boots or faux fur or shearling lined boots, check out the pieces below. Everything’s under $100.
