Celeb Style on a Dime – Lea Michele in Aldo

Posted On Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Celebs clearly have a love for Aldo. First we saw Jessica Szohr in their patent pumps, Rihanna in their oxford booties and now Lea Michele is the latest starlet to rock the affordable shoe line.

The Glee star paired a striped mini with Aldo’s Dyle wedge. Retailing for $100, the four inch woven heel is perfect for summer. And the two-tone platform adds a colorful punch.

The wedge is a perfect spring and summer shoe staple. It gives the added height of a stiletto but with much needed comfort and a more casual feel.

Step in to the trend with the Aldo shoe above, or check out the woven wedges below, all under $100.

It warms my thrifty heart when I see celebs rocking cheap chic finds. They can afford the best, but sometimes they opt for affordable wears you can find at your local mall. Jennifer Hudson was the latest celeb to step out in style on a dime.

She paired a few trends {fedora, florals, shorts and leggings} without looking too trendy and created a boho chic look.

But look at the shoes. Cute, right? And better yet, they’re only $85! Jennifer rocked the Chinese Laundry Friction pumps. The suede platforms with elastic straps are the perfect compliment to any outfit. And the 5 inch heel is sure to give you legs for days.

Charlize Theron was recently spotted in a casual look perfect for spring. Her oversized sweater, ripped jeans and satchel are perfect for a day out with the girls or a night with your honey. But check out the shoes! She’s rocking LOFT’s Shirlie Open Toe Bootie. At 4.5 inches, the wooden stacked heel ups the chic factor of any outfit. And the lace up, peep toe detail never goes out of style.

The LOFT booties retailed for $100 but unfortunately they’re sold out on online. If you’re in the market for suede and/or lace up booties, check the options below. Rock them with your favorite skinny jeans or a mini. Oh, and they’re all under $100. These bad boys are the perfect way to step in to spring.

Celeb Style on a Dime – Katy Perry

Posted On Monday, March 21st, 2011

Us regular folks aren’t the only ones who love a good cheap chic find, as witnessed by Katy Perry stepping out in an H&M Fashion Against AIDS dress. The ruffled sleeves and animal print frock is perfect for spring.

Katy’s dress is from the 2010 collection, but the 2011 pieces will hit stores the end of April, with 25 percent of sales benefiting youth HIV/AIDS projects.

And what better way to dress up a cheap chic dress than with a fly pair of heels? Katy rocked the Miu Miu Forma cutout sandals {originally priced at $755}. Don’t you just love a girl who mixes high and low pieces?

But if you’re not willing to drop that much on a pair of shoes, but want a comparable look, Go Jane has you covered. Their perforated peep toe heels are a dead ringer for the more expensive version. They’ll only set you back by $31.50 and come in black, beige and red.

Look for Less: Anne Hathaway

There’s nothing better than a girl who can look casual and still chic, and that’s exactly what Anne Hathaway did while at LAX. The Hollywood darling rocked a comfy casual look in a military jacket, striped top and fitted jeans. I know, I know. Stripes can be a bit scary {especially horizontal ones} but opt for thinner stripes to flatter your figure.

Get Anne Hathaway’s look for less with pieces from Sears.
