Budget Recipe: Ginger Lemonade Spritzer

I have a confession to make. I’m a {recovering} soda addict. Since I cut back drastically from the sweet fizzy stuff a year ago, I’ve been on a quest for something to satisfy the occasional soda craving. Luckily, I found a new fix: ginger lemonade and lime spritzer. I based this off of a ginger lemonade recipe and I have to say it’s nothing short of amazing.

It’s cheap, easy to make and a refreshing spin on the classic lemonade.

Ingredients:
Water
Sugar
Slices of fresh ginger root
Fresh lemons (I added some bottled lime juice as well)
Seltzer

*Measurements depend on how many servings you’d like to prepare, see the original recipe here for calculations.

Add water, sugar and ginger in a pot. Stir and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add lemon and lime juice. Let rest for 15 minutes. Place liquid in a pitcher and chill for at least an hour before serving.

{garnish with lemon. add a dash of seltzer to create a spritzer}

{freeze the ginger lemonade to make flavored ice cubes}
