Beauty on a Dime – Coconut Oil

You already know I love a great, cheap beauty find (like a clay mask or bright polish), so I’m always on the look for a new find that won’t break the bank.

I’ve been using coconut oil for a while now, so I was super excited when I received a jar of Tropical Traditions 100% unrefined coconut oil. Yes, they sent me a free jar but I was under no obligation to write a review…just had to put that out there.

Coconut oil has tons of benefits, from hair and skin care to culinary uses.

I primarily use it as a part of my hair regime by either massaging a dime size amount into my scalp or as a weekly deep condition (simply heat some coconut oil for a few seconds in the microwave and mix with Suave or Garnier conditioner). It leaves my hair soft and moisturized without being oily or weighed down.

Recently I’ve started using a bit of the oil on my skin. One of the great things about Tropical Traditions is that the scent isn’t overpowering so I can use it without smelling fruity.

I was a little leery of the $27.50 price tag for the 32 ounce jar but after trying the product for a few weeks, I can definitely say it’s worth it as a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it everyday and the jar still looks full.

What are some of your favorite affordable beauty finds?
