Affordable Beauty Routines for Glowing Skin – #ForeverYoung

I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’ve suffered from oily, acne prone skin for as long as I can remember. I mean, my skin isn’t horrible, but I constantly envy women who have breakout-free, glowing skin. From dermatologist prescribed antibiotics {I’m so not with taking meds unless I absolutely have to!} to harsh chemicals {ouch!}, I’ve tried it all to combat breakouts and maintain a healthy glow, which is really important when I’m appearing on television. HDTV, yikes!

But what’s finally helped me achieve {mostly!} blemish-free and healthy skin is the most basic, and shall I emphasize, affordable products! I joined force with Olay to bring you a few must haves for fresh skin.

While actual beauty products are great, for youthful skin, it’s primarily about how you take care of yourself and what’s going on inside! In addition to meditation and exercise, these are a few items my skin craves.

We’ve all heard that drinking water is a must and it’s true. I’ve always loved water, but I finally started drinking a ton. I bought this 75-ounce water jug for less than $2 and I fill it up every morning and drink throughout the day. I do this in addition to 1-2 cups of green tea. I really do feel the water has helped flush my system out and prevents my skin from looking dull, which is pretty common as the weather gets colder.

In addition to water, I love love love apple cider vinegar, which you can buy online or at any health food store. I first started using it a few years ago to clarify and cleanse my scalp but the internal benefits are also amazing. As soon as I get up {literally, 5 minutes after I wake up and feed Chauncey}, I have a glass of warm water with 1-2 teaspoons of ACV {sometimes I squeeze fresh lemon as well}. I know some people who just drink a shot of apple cider vinegar, but that’s too harsh for me, so I mix it with H2O. And why is apple cider vinegar so great? It removes toxins and impurities from the body, balances the body’s pH {inflammation is a huge cause of acne!} and aids in digestion, just to name a few! I also mix ACV with a bentonite clay mask, which further removes toxins from the skin.

Sometimes you need the assistance of actual beauty products. I recently started using Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil and I can say it’s a winner. I know, oil on oily skin?! But it’s lightweight and includes nine good-for-your-skin oils like coconut, sunflower, sesame and jojoba. The bottle instructs you to use 4-5 drops, which I thought would be way too much, and massage into your skin, but it worked perfectly and the massaging motion felt really great and it doesn’t leave your skin looking or feeling like an oil slick.

Makeup is awesome and can cover a multitude of sins, but I’d much rather focus on proper skincare! I’ve actually been going makeup free for the past month now, minus the occasional tinted moisturizer and mascara, of course!

Olay-Regenerist Olay is a worldwide leader in skin care and has been trusted by women for over 60 years, maintaining its founding philosophy: to maintain a deep understanding of women’s changing needs and to combine products that fit their needs with the latest advances in skin care technology. Regenerist was created along those lines to address women’s anti-aging needs, and millions of women have tried it and loved it, making Regenerist the #1 anti-aging moisturizer.*
