Affordable British Brands

Last week I attended a press event for the Arcadia Group and though I was tempted to skip it {crazy schedule!}, I’m so glad I didn’t. Arcadia Group might not sound familiar, you certainly know their brands, which include Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Evans.
This was the British company’s first press day outside of Great Britain and after reviewing what they have in store for fall and winter, I’m so glad I made it. Besides being fashionable and statement making, the pieces are affordable. How affordable? I’m talking most items are less than $50!
All of the lines have a range of sizes. Evans {above} has sizes 10-28 and the petite garments by Wallis {below} are specifically for women 5’3″ and under. Besides having something for all shapes, the lines cater to different ages and occasions. The casual and office appropriate attire features classic wrap dresses, blazers and funky prints to add a bit of punch to your wardrobe.
The lines that really spoke to my personal aesthetic were Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins. Miss Selfridge is geared toward the 16-25 year olds and you can see the youthful influence with trendy jumpsuits and flirty, heavily embellished cocktail frocks.
And though Dorothy Perkins aims to reach the 25-35 year old and is more classic, that doesn’t mean it’s boring. I like to think of this line as for the woman who has to keep it professional in the work place but wants to show off her fashionable flair. Besides the clothes, I was gagging over the bold accessories from Dorothy Perkins, which were under $50. Check out a few pieces I Instagrammed here.
I’ve never purchased anything from the aforementioned brands, but I can see myself buying a few pieces to add to my late summer and fall wardrobe.
Have you ever bought clothes or accessories from Wallis, Evans, Miss Selfridge or Dorothy Perkins? How did you like the fit? Are you looking forward to any of the fall pieces pictured above?
